Maturity Assessment Protocols
ISO 29010 is a management system standard that establishes a discipline agnostic
framework for owner/operators of assests/facilities to establish management systems consistent with
their
context, business and operational objectives, ISO 29011 establishes a methodology and criteria for
assessing
an organisation's level of conformance and maturity to the ISO 290110 requirements.
This assessment tool is designed to record and analyse the findings of
assessments to
the ISO29010 requirements benchmarked against the ISO29011 maturity criteria.
User Stories.
The assessment tool is intended to have the scalability to record and analyse
assessments
of;
- Single current state assessment of a defined organisatio/scope
- Current state assessment and future state vision comparision including identification of actions proposed to achieve the desired future state (two assessment records)
- Multiple assessments capturing changes in maturity over time
- Multiple assessments of differnt segments of an organisation to benchmark performance and to identify and leverage practices as the basis for organisation wide improvement
- Multiple assesssments benchmarking peer organisations and to identify and leverage best practice for broader segment or community benefit
- Single current state assessment of a defined organisatio/scope
Maturity Levels.
Maturity levels are defined as :
- Awareness: Management demonstrates understanding of and commitment to addressing the requirement
- Approach: Plan/processes defined/proven meeting the requirement
- Deployment: Plan/process effectively implemented including baseline correction/corrective action/continuous improvement (Clause 10.2)
- Improving: Sustained improvement with demonstration of value realised/protected by the improvements
- Transforming: Demonstration that the OMS is a strategic enabler of step changes in the operations and operational performance including engagement with and contributions to stakeholders
Assessment Methodology.
- Define Assessment Terms of Reference
- Plan assessment (Interviewees, Input Data, Focus areas, Protocols etc.)
- Conduct interviews and collect and analyse objective evidence to assess maturity against the criteria
- Determine and record maturity scores
- Capture recommended actions
- Record Executive Summary of Assessment outcomes
